Microsoft is moving forward with a bridge to allow iOS developers to easily create versions of their apps for Windows 10.
In an update to the Windows Bridge for iOS website (first spotted by Frawin.com), Microsoft says it’s planning a rollout “in the coming weeks” of a web-based tool that will analyze apps for compatibility with the bridge:
“You’ll be able to see exactly how much work you’ll have to do to bring your app to Windows, along with suggestions, tips and workarounds for any libraries you’re using that the bridge doesn’t support yet.”

Microsoft has also been posting previews of the bridge, which provides an Objective-C development environment for Visual Studio and support for iOS APIs, to GitHub over the past few months. A new version was added Thursday that includes CoreText improvements and fixes a number of bugs.
The company had also begun work on an Android-to-Windows bridge project, code-named ‘Astoria’ but that’s reportedly been scuttled for now.
