Anybody know why the 747 has a hump on the front? I had an aerospace professor in college who worked for Boeing before becoming a professor. He participated in the design of the 747, and he told our class why the hump, which gives the 747 a distinctive look, is there. Just wondering whether this is general knowledge or a closely held secret…
