Visual Studio 2017 launched to the general public March 7 and developers have been devouring the latest version of Microsoft’s integrated development environment.

If you haven’t yet downloaded Visual Studio 2017, take note: The new version includes a free 60-day subscription to Xamarin University, where you can train in cross-platform mobile development.

A leader in mobile development, Xamarin was acquired by Microsoft last year and the companies have been increasingly integrating their offerings. A normal annual subscription for Xamarin University is $999, making this a deep discount on unlimited access to more than 70 on-demand classes, some of which count towards a Xamarin Mobile Developers certification.

The subscription is available to anyone downloading Visual Studio 2017 by March 14, including developers using the free Visual Studio 2017 Community edition.

Of course, that’s not the only reason to download Visual Studio 2017. The newest version of the IDE offers a slew of updates, including faster installation, startup and load times; better code navigation; new Git features; and the ability to build your own extensions.

Microsoft has also created a formal Visual Studio Preview program, allowing developers early access to updates before they’re integrated into Visual Studio 2017. Visual Studio Preview contains the latest code pushes and, according to Microsoft, “may result in the occasional broken build.”

Currently, that means developers can use Visual Studio Preview for full Python support, which was unavailable in the version of Visual Studio 2017 released this week. The two versions can be installed side by side, and Preview can easily be removed at any time using the Visual Studio Installer.
