Want to do a Good Deed? XBoxes for Heroes

If you’ve read this blog for a while, you may recall that last year I ran a little project sending goodies to troops in Iraq. I sent them an XBox, the XBox team at Microsoft kicked in a bunch of games, and readers of this blog contributed XBox games and videos. We made some soldiers very happy, and I’m grateful for the support you provided.

Well, sometimes one good deed begets another. A couple of weeks ago, I received an e-mail from some soliders in Mosul, Iraq wondering if we might have an XBox to send them, too. It just so happens that my son has a new XBox 360, so his old XBox is just gathering dust. He also has some games that won’t run on the 360, and I went to the local video store and found some great deals on XBox games for as little as $2.99 each (some pre-owned, some brand new). I’m sending the XBox and games to the troops as a thank-you for serving their country and putting their lives on the line to keep me and my family safe.

It occurred to me that some of you may have old XBoxes or XBox games that you’d like to send, too. If you have them and they’re in good shape and you’d like to donate them to some soldiers in Iraq or Afghanistan, send me an e-mail (jeffpro followed by an “at” sign followed by wintellect and .com). I’m sure I can find some troops who can put your old hardware and software to use. If you’ll send them to me, I’ll pay to ship them to Iraq. Better than letting old video games sit around collecting dust, no?
