The Long Haul is Over

I skipped church this morning because I was nearing the end of the project I’ve been working on since May–building an ASP.NET 2.0 course for Microsoft–and I knew I couldn’t get my mind on worship when it was consumed by work.

I spent yesterday doing some rework to the course’s labs to better show off some of the cool data handling stuff in ASP.NET 2.0 and Visual Studio. This morning at 10:30 a.m., I finished dotting the Is and crossing the Ts. The course consists of 369 slides, 42 scripted demos, almost 200 pages of labs plus the code for 9 lab exercises, and LOTS of presenters’ notes. I’m exhausted but elated. I look like I’ve been on a 3-day drunk. But I feel GREAT!

This week I travel to Redmond to do a live presentation of the course’s lectures and demos to DEs (developer evangelists), RDs (regional directors), and other Microsoft personnel from all over. I’m really looking forward to it, because it will give me a chance to test and refine the story embodied in the slides.

Of course, when beta 2 comes out, I’ll have to go over the course with a fine-toothed comb and update it. But I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. 🙂
