I shot about an hour of video at the jet rally this weekend and condensed it into 5 minutes of pure turbine fun. I encoded the video with Expression Encoder and uploaded it to the Silverlight Streaming Web site so everyone can enjoy it. I squeezed the size down to 400 x 300 and reduced the bit rate somewhat to stay under the 22 MB limit currently imposed by Silverlight Streaming.
The video is silent save for a minute or two in the middle. The DVD-quality version I show to friends is set to music. I couldn’t include the audio track in the posted version because the music is copyrighted. However, if you want to really enjoy the video, start Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead or Alive” playing with the first frame. The action is synced to the music, and if you time it right, the video will end just as the final chord sounds at the end of the song.
If I ever play in a rock ‘n roll band again, I’m going to fire up a turbine right in the middle of a song.
