TechEd was split into two weeks this year–one for developers and one for IT folks (a formula that has worked well at TechEd Europe the last couple of years)–and Monday morning TechEd Developers begins with a slate of full-day pre-conference sessions. I’m doing a precon on Silverlight, so if you plan to be at TechEd, stop by and join the party! It’s going to be fun. I have lots of slides to show, but more importantly, I have plenty of demos prepared. If you’ve heard about Silverlight but haven’t yet had the opportunity to dive into it, Monday’s precon is a great way to get started. We’ll start at square one and build up until you’ve seen most of the features of Silverlight 2.
I’m doing breakout sessions Wednesday and Thursday on Silverlight, asynchronous ASP.NET programming, and ASP.NET AJAX. Hope to see you there!

Jeff,
I hope to see you in Orlando next week.
Cheers,

Jeff,
This was my first Tech Ed and I was fortunate enough to attend all three sessions of yours this past week. They were all awesome. I came to Tech Ed not knowing a thing about Silverlight, and left feeling like I had the tools do get a pretty good start.
Same goes with the AJAX and and Asynchronous sessions. One of two people I came across this week who not only knows his stuff but is an excellent teacher/speaker. Thanks for making my first Tech Ed a great one.
Do you ever make your way to South Florida to speak?
Thanks for the kind feedback! I haven't spoken in South Florida in 3 or 4 years. I'll get back down there someday...maybe when there's an RC jet event in the area. :-)
Just missed this RC Jet Event.
Your knowledge and presentation skills were top notch and made tech ed worth the price of admission. I hope to see you speak on silverlight and wcf at more events.
Also, I downloaded the pageturn code (s 1.0) and it works in s2b1. However, I just upgraded to s2b2 and it does not work as is in b2. The code breaks on line 146 in pageturn.js (this._evenClipRegion = this._control.content.createFromXaml(xaml);). Thought I would let you know. I'm building my s2b2 page turn application right now for inkubook.com.
Cheers,
Bryon Greene
Thanks, Bryon. I'm working on deadline on another project right now, but by the end of the this week I hope to have all my Silverlight samples ported to Beta 2.
I got your existing js s2b1 page turn application to work under s2b2. Just take "" and "" out of variable _epg. It doesn't seem to have a negative impace removing that particular clip.
Cheers,
Bryon Greene
Now I have the page turn application working in C# Silverlight2 Beta2. The page turning is working well. The _shadow object is not working properly, therefore I have modified the color to white until it is fixed.
If you still have my inkubook or inkubuzz card, shoot me an email. I can send you the s2b2 c# pageturn application that I converted from your javascript silverlight1 version. I have a few more features I am adding to it, but for now it works like it does you your javascript demo.
Cheers,
Bryon Greene
Jeff, I was in your deep dive into ajax breakout and it was one of the best sessions I went to. You used a plugin for ie to show the difference between what is sent to the server and back with the update panel and using a service to do the same. What was that plugin and where can I download it? Thanks in advance.
It's called Web Development Helper. You can find it at http://projects.nikhilk.net/webdevhelper/.
